Reminder Subject: TALK: Advanced topics in data integration

Abstract:
In this lecture, I will overview how the challenging problem of data integration is currently attacked in both academia and leading industrial labs. I will present demos illustrating key features from the Stanford/UW/MSR systems for classic enterprise data integration. Then I will continue with new abstractions being developed for schema integration at UW and IBM Almaden and discuss their benefits. I will conclude with usage scenarios and challenges in data integration at scale.

Speaker: Michael Gubanov is currently a postdoctoral associate in CSAIL. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Washington in collaboration with IBM Almaden. He also spent some time at Google doing research in Big learning that was deployed on Google production clusters. He completed his undergraduate education from St. Petersburg National Research University ITMO - ACM-ICPC World Champions in 2013.
