Abstract: Image super-resolution has wide-ranging applications in many aspects of visual processing, from medical imaging and satellite imaging to data compression and video transmission. In this talk, Zehan will give an overview of their journey to developing their unique super-resolution and compression methods at Magic Pony Technology, which was recently acquired by Twitter. Recent papers which may be of interest:

• Real-time super-resolution using CNNs

• Photorealistic super-resolution using GANs

• Spatial-temporal networks for super- resolution

• Amortised MAP inference for image super-resolution

• Compressive autoencoders

Bio: Zehan is the co-founder of tech start-up Magic Pony Technology which was acquired by Twitter last year. Prior to that, he completed a PhD at Imperial College London in Medical Image Analysis before turning his hand to entrepreneurship and start-ups.
