Reminder Subject: TALK: Embodied Intelligence Reading group - Double descent (instead of the seminar talk)

Instead of a presentation, this week we will have a reading group discussion on Deep double descent lead by Leslie Pack Kaelbling and Phillip Isola. Since our goal is to have a discussion, attendees are required you to read the papers before coming to the reading group; it's ok if you didn't understand them! We'll try to understand them together.
- Reconciling modern ML practice and the classical bias-variance trade-off Belkin et al.: https://www.pnas.org/content/pnas/116/32/15849.full.pdf
- Deep Double Descent: Where Bigger Models and More Data Hurt Nakkiran et al.: https://arxiv.org/abs/1912.02292

To complement the discussion, but not required reading:
- Roger Grosse's observation of the phenomenon in 2013: https://lips.cs.princeton.edu/prior-knowledge-and-overfitting/
- Brady Neal's blog post: https://www.bradyneal.com/bias-variance-tradeoff-textbooks-update
